Chapter 8: The ETF layer
Video coming shortly
Eleven hundred and thirty seven ETFs, each with its own page.
Issuer, category, expense ratio, leverage structure, net asset value, bid, ask, the quoted spread in basis points, and the premium or discount to NAV. Quarterly holdings pulled from SEC N-PORT filings and matched at the fund-series level, which matters because a single trust can file for four hundred funds at once.
Then the part nobody else publishes. We cluster these funds on twenty seven dimensions of what they actually hold and how they are built, not what they are branded. Eight clusters. View them through principal components with the axes labelled by their loadings, through t-SNE, or pick any two of the twenty seven features and plot them head to head.
Open a fund and it shows you its structural neighbours. They are frequently not the funds you would have guessed, and that gap is the whole point.
There is a distance mode on the cluster map. Click any fund as the reference and the entire universe recolours by how far every other fund sits from it in that twenty seven dimensional space, with the twelve nearest ranked beside it. It is the fastest way to find out what a fund actually is, as opposed to what its ticker suggests.
