Chapter 2: Market overview

The markets page is the free front door and it runs continuously. Ten instruments across the top, refreshing every thirty seconds. Underneath, five condition cards: volatility, rates, sentiment, futures and commodities, plus a geopolitical score a model recomputes off the headline flow and the stress indicators several times a day.

Cut Thru the Noise writes a plain-English read of the tape, and it knows which session it is standing in, so an overnight paragraph never quotes a cash market that closed at four.

Below it, regime history. Every five minutes we log a directional reading and store it. Five hundred of them sit on the chart with a weighted moving average through them. Hover any point and it reports the factors that drove it.

Then the global heatmap, seven asset groups, each expandable or collapsed to a single average. And the news rail, fifteen headlines deduplicated across Reuters, CNBC and Finnhub.

The toggle in the header is an audience lens, not a theme switch. On retail the heatmap shows one line per group and the directional read says markets up, down or mixed. Flip it to institutional and the same page opens every group, exposes the full factor model underneath the reading, and the written summary rewrites itself for somebody who trades for a living. Same data, same moment, two different jobs to do with it.

Command K searches the whole platform from anywhere. And the badge beside the wordmark is a FRAGO, a fragmentary order, which is what you issue when conditions change mid-mission. It fires on volatility spikes, equity breaks, oil shocks and haven flows, it is severity-coded, and it is visible to everyone including free accounts. Alerts people cannot see are not alerts.
